About Megan E. Rich, MD

Dr. Rich earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at The Christ Hospital/University of Cincinnati residency program where she also served as chief resident. Following graduation, Dr. Rich joined the faculty and currently services as the Program Director of the residency.

Dr. Rich is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and she has a special interest in residency teaching. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Dr. Rich currently serves as the co-director of the Longitudinal Primary Care Clerkship for 1st and 2nd year medical students at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is the associate program director for The Christ Hospital/University of Cincinnati Family Medicine Residency Program. She is an assistant professor in the University of Cincinnati's Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Dr. Rich's honors include being named the STFM Resident Teacher of the Year and Family Medicine Inpatient Teacher of the Year. She has also received several awards including: the Marjorie Grad Vockell, MD Family Medicine Residency Award, Dean's Supplemental Scholarship Award, Kennedy Scholarship Award, Majsterick Scholarship Award, Dean's Excellence Fund Award and the Stritch School of Medicine Scholarship Award. In 2015 she was named one of the top doctors by Cincinnati Magazine.

She has published peer reviewed articles in publications including The Journal of Family Practice and Brain Research. She presented nationally on a variety of topics related to clinical education including: patient safety curriculum for residents, teaching medical students in a primary care setting, and a physician wellness curriculum for residents.
