Appearance and body change support programs for cancer patients
At The Christ Hospital Cancer Center, we help and encourage our patients to feel better through programs and workshops that teach you how to maintain your beauty on the inside and out.
Take a "Look Good Feel Better" class
The "Look Good, Feel Better" program, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, teaches women tips and tools for make-up, beauty, skin care and hair with workshops, demonstrations and videos. This free program is held six times per year (every other month) at The Christ Hospital in the Cancer Center (Level D). Call 1-800-227-2345 to register for one of our upcoming classes.
Wig salon at The Christ Hospital Cancer Center
In partnership with the American Cancer Society, and the support of volunteers, the Cancer Center at The Christ Hospital has a wig salon to help women who have experienced hair loss as a symptom of cancer treatment.
Let us introduce you to the hair options at the wig salon. A beautiful wig can make such a difference in how you feel. It's an opportunity to try a new style, one that can make you feel happy and boost confidence. In the Joseph Beth Nurture Boutique in our Cancer Center in Mt. Auburn, patients are fitted with a wig of their choosing, complements of the American Cancer Society and Pantene. Patients can make an appointment for a wig fitting by calling cancer support services at 513-585-4002.
Post-mastectomy fitting services
The Christ Hospital Cancer Center has teamed up with Personal Symmetrics, to help give you back your natural appearance after a mastectomy. Our patients find products to help restore body image with the help of a personal, certified post-mastectomy fitting consultant.
We'll help you explore prostheses, bras, camisoles and swimsuits so you can feel confident and comfortable in the way you look. Find our Personal Symmetric consultant in the Nurture Boutique at our Cancer Center in Mt. Auburn.
