    About Rebekah H. Lantz, DO

Rebekah Lantz, DO is a board-certified physician with a specialty in internal medicine who provides inpatient care with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Hospitalists/Nocturnists.

Dr. Lantz chose a career in medicine as a way to help people through her work. Her care philosophy is centered in the individual holistic approach that is the core of osteopathic medicine. She treats each patient with mind, body, and spirit in mind, and considers how each of these components contributes to overall health. “I always strive to recognize a patient's understanding of their own health and offer a medical standard-of-care-based perspective,” she says. “If we receive a challenging prognosis, it’s important to discuss what a patient's wishes are and whether to be aggressive or conservative in their care.”

She adds that while providers can offer an experienced medical perspective from years of rigorous training, patients are the real experts on their respective lives and experiences, and thus the most important members of their care team. “We’re here to learn from you and offer advice based on our training,” she says. She also advocates for patients to choose an active and healthy lifestyle to maximize their health. “Your health is your greatest wealth,” she says. “While it’s my pleasure to serve you, I wish to see you less as an acuity in the hospital. That’s when we both win.”

Dr. Lantz earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from The Ohio State University, and her medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency at the Wright State University School of Medicine and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

When not providing care, Dr. Lantz enjoys hiking in national parks with her husband and walks with her French bulldog. She also enjoys art, preparing delicious health-based food at home and fine dining.
