Jennifer Blied, ACNP, is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who provides outpatient care with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Pulmonology. She has significant experience across a variety of specialties and settings, including extensive experience providing acute care and as a hospitalist/nocturnist in a hospital setting.
Jennifer’s interest in health and sciences led her to pursue a career in healthcare, which she began as a medical assistant and as an emergency medical technician. This experience drove her to pursue a career in nursing as a registered nurse and later as an advanced practice provider.
Her philosophy toward providing care is focused on empowering patients to have control over their own health by asking them a lot of questions about what may or may not work for them and educating them on their options so that they can make informed decisions about their care. She also advocates for patients to ask questions of their own, no matter how sensitive or embarrassed they may feel about asking them. “That’s what we’re here for, and if I can help you understand something a little better, it truly can make a positive change in the quality of your life,” she says.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts and Communication from Xavier University and a nursing diploma from The Christ Hospital School of Nursing, where she is proud to be the founder and first president of the Student Nurses Association. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and later as a Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Cincinnati. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
When she’s not providing care to others, Jennifer enjoys taking care of her own health by training for events such as marathons, ultra trail races and triathlons. She also enjoys golf and travelling with her husband and their dogs, and she is an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals.
