CINCINNATI (July 2, 2024) – The Christ Hospital Health Network will host its 3rd annual Women’s Cardiovascular Symposium on Friday, October 11 from 7:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at The Summit Hotel 5345 Medpace Way, Cincinnati. The program, one of the only of its kind in the Midwest, will feature renowned experts from across the country to address knowledge gaps of cardiovascular disease in women.
The symposium, led by Odayme Quesada, MD, Director of the Women’s Heart Center at The Christ Hospital Health Network, has grown over the past three years and will feature presentations and discussions with nationally renowned experts in women’s cardiovascular care. This single day Women’s Cardiovascular Symposium is targeted to physicians, trainees, advanced practice providers, first responders and healthcare professionals involved in the management of cardiovascular disease in women.
Dr. Quesada believes in equitable and accessible cardiovascular care across the lifespan through a focus on excellence in clinical care, innovative research, education and community outreach. The symposium is designed to equip attendees with the ability to:
•Apply best practices to evaluate and manage cardiovascular diseases more prominent in women.
•Articulate the need for a multidisciplinary approach in the cardiovascular management of female patients.
•Recognize the importance of social determinants of health in the overall care of a patient.
•Assess medical and surgical treatments options for patients with heart failure.
•Accurately evaluate women presenting with chest pain.
•Evaluate challenges female patients face regarding management of weight, lipids, diabetes, and menopause.
