Dean Kereiakes, Chairman of The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute Given Lifetime Achievement Award by National Cardiology Group

Dr. Kereiakes Honored by Colleagues at Annual Forum in March

CINCINNATI (March 22, 2024) – Dean Kereiakes, MD, FACC, MSCAI, Chairman of The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute recently received the lifetime achievement award at the 20th annual meeting of the Scottsdale Interventional Forum (SIF). SIF promotes education in general and interventional cardiology including cardiology fellows, surgeons radiologist, nurse, technicians and other medical professionals and attracts cardiovascular professionals from all over the country.

Dr. Kereiakes has authored more than 1,200 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, performed more than 30,000 heart procedures and has helped lead dozens of trials for FDA approval of novel medical devices and medications all while educating future cardiologists. While he was not able to attend the forum in-person this year, he was able to receive the award virtually. “When I found out I was receiving the SIF Lifetime Achievement award this year, I was simply at a loss for words,” said Kereiakes. “My career, my life has been blessed by the interactions I’ve had with so many colleagues that I respect and have grown to call friends. I can’t express the gratitude I feel for this award but also the love I’ve received from so many of you for this distinction. This is the highlight of my career in cardiology. I am grateful to everyone single team member I’ve worked with here at The Christ Hospital Health Network.”

Dr. Kereiakes will also be honored by the University of Cincinnati Alumni Association with The William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement in April.
