When is it time to see an obstetrics and gynecology specialist?
Make an appointment with one of our obstetrician-gynecologists or certified nurse-midwives if:
You're planning to become pregnant or are pregnant.
You're due for your yearly well-woman exam.
You have pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, vaginal infections or urinary problems.
You are experiencing symptoms of peri-menopause or menopause.
You have any other concerning symptoms affecting the pelvis or vagina.
It's a good idea to see an OB/GYN specialist before you're pregnant to ensure the healthiest pregnancy possible.
If you are pregnant, make the appointment as soon as you find out. Most women won't need to visit until they are around eight weeks pregnant.
Additional services we provide include:
Nitrous oxide for increased patient comfort
Some of our OB/GYN offices will soon offer nitrous oxide for safe and short-term relief from pain and anxiety associated with certain gynecologic exams and procedures. Nitrous oxide is especially beneficial for patients who have experienced trauma and who have difficulty with regular pelvic exams. It is fast acting and leaves the body quickly, meaning a patient is able to drive 15 minutes later. It is administered through a mask over the mouth and can only be activated by the patient taking a deep breath through the mask.
Nitrous oxide is currently not covered by most insurance but is affordable and it is an eligible expense for HSA and FSA funds. Ask your doctor’s office about cost and eligible procedures and exams.
