About Sheila C. Llanes-Diopita, MD

Sheila Llanes-Diopita, MD, is a board-certified physician who specializes in family medicine with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Priimary Care. She provides care to patients of all ages at the Wilmington location.

Dr. Llanes-Diopita was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by a desire to help others lead healthier, happier lives. “I have the opportunity to make a positive difference one patient at a time while also enhancing the health and wellbeing of the community,” she says.

Her philosophy toward providing care focusses on treating the person, not just the illness. “This means considering all aspects of a patient’s life – physical, emotional, social, and environmental factors – when making healthcare decisions,” she says. “It also means approaching each patient with empathy and respect and without judgement. Understanding their perspective and providing compassionate care builds trust and helps to foster a positive healthcare experience.”

Dr. Llanes-Diopita advocates for her patients to recognize the impact of preventative care and choosing a healthy lifestyle to lower their risk of developing chronic diseases. She also urges them to be open and honest when communicating with her so that she can help them develop the best possible treatment plans to meet their individual needs.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Medical Degree from Manila Central University. She completed a residency in family medicine at Clinton Memorial Hospital through the University of Cincinnati Family Practice Residency program. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Ohio Southwestern Academy of Family Physicians.

In her free time, Dr. Llanes-Diopita enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and doing random DIY projects around the house.
