Nathan Sanders, CNP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who specializes in cardiovascular critical care with The Christ Hospital Physicians — Heart & Vascular. He provides care for patients at the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Mt. Auburn.
Raised in Appalachia and born into a family of nurses, Sanders witnessed the importance of quality, accessible health care. Initially, his proximity to medicine led him to study public health in college. "I developed a passion for nursing after learning how its patient-centered approach can have such a lasting impact,” Sanders says. He encourages his patients to ask questions, voice concerns, and share their wishes with their treatment team. “No two patients are the same and I take a lot of pride in being accepting and culturally sensitive when working with a patient."
Sanders has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies from Northern Kentucky University, a direct-entry Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, and an additional Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. He is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with his friends and family.
