Jon Berbin, MD, is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who provides care for patients at the Loveland location.
Dr. Berbin grew up the son of missionaries in Papua New Guinea, where he first gained interest in medicine at the mission medical clinic in his village, prompting his father to encourage him to pursue a career in medicine.
This early experience of medical service to the underserved continues to shape Dr. Berbin’s philosophy for providing care, where he strives to combine clinical excellence with compassion, humility, and a willingness to learn – even from his patients. “It is just as important that my patients feel heard and understood as it is to arrive at the right diagnosis and treatment,” he says.” “My goal is to really listen to each patient in order to gain an accurate picture of their health history to achieve the right diagnosis, but I also enjoy getting to know them as individuals in addition to meeting their healthcare needs.” He says everybody has the ability to improve their own health and he encourages his patients to be proactive and do as much as possible to do so, no matter what their current health state.”
Dr. Berbin earned a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Studies from Bob Jones University and a Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Montgomery Center of Family Medicine in Greenwood, South Carolina. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians Christian Medical and Dental Association.
When not providing care, Dr. Berbin enjoys travelling in the U.S. and abroad with his family, including in Papua New Guinea, where his parents still serve. Dr. Berbin is devoted to his loving wife and three kids and is excited to begin exploring the greater Cincinnati area with them. An avid ultimate frisbee player since college, he enjoys sports in general, exercise, and being outdoors. His faith is central to all that he does and he is an active member of Grace Bible Church in Milford, where his uncle is the pastor.
