Jessica Sanford, MSN, APRN, AGPCNP-C, is a Certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in providing inpatient palliative care at The Christ Hospital.
Jessica was inspired to pursue a career in nursing as a way to combine a desire to help others with an admiration of the physical and mental capabilities of the human body. “I value those moments with my patients – being able to hold their hand during a tough procedure, being a friendly face when they are admitted into the hospital, or just being the person that listens when they need somebody to do so,” she says.
She approaches care with a philosophy of seeing her patients as a whole person, not just the moment that has brought them to seek care. She strives to collaborate with her patients and be their advocate and she urges them to always ask questions or voice their concerns.
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University in Minnesota. She is certified in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association.
When not caring for patients, Jessica enjoys staying busy with her husband and four children. She says her “happy place” is anywhere near a beach, and that she loves visiting just about any Mexican restaurant.
