Namdar Kazemi, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Joint & Spine. He specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery and treats patients at The Christ Hospital Joint & Spine Center in Mt. Auburn, as well as the Liberty Township, Red Bank, and Green Township locations.
Dr. Kazemi’s care philosophy is focused on treating his patients as if they are his family. “Many of my patients are in their 60s and 70s, which is the same age as my parents,” he says. “So, I always ask myself what I would do in each situation if I were treating one of them.” He reminds his patients of the importance of making lifestyle choices that contribute to good health. “Exercise regularly, stretch often, and eat well, and you can stay healthy for a long time,” he says.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physiology & Neurobiology from The University of Maryland, College Park. He then spent a year with the National Institutes of Health where he conducted research studies in biophysics before attending George Washington University School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Kazemi completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He then completed his shoulder and elbow fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City where he trained with world renowned shoulder surgeons Evan Flatow, Leesa Galatz and Bradford Parsons. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Shoulder & Elbow Society.
In his free time, Dr. Kazemi enjoys skiing, tennis, mountain biking, and road biking. He is fluent in Farsi and enjoys travelling to new countries to experience their culture and food.
