CINCINNATI (October 9, 2024) – The Christ Hospital Health Network’s 2024 Gala raised more than $2.3 million dollars for their nationally renowned Comprehensive Oncology Program. The money will go towards patient assistance, research and lifesaving cancer programs.
“These funds reflect the perception of The Christ Hospital Health Network by our community and will be life-changing for our patients,” said Brian Mannion, MD, Medical Director of The Christ Hospital’s Oncology Program. “Our community shares our vision of being a world-class destination for cancer care and they believe that we will deliver leading-edge, innovative care second-to-none without having to leave Cincinnati.”
The event, with presenting sponsor Fort Washington Investment Advisors and Diamond Sponsor, Danis Construction, honored 7 pioneers in cancer care in Cincinnati: Cornelia M. Dettmer, MD, PhD (posthumously), Ralph M. Scott, MD (posthumously), Wilfried Leder, MD, Douglas K. Hawley, MD, Kathryn Ann Weichert, MD, Martin B. Popp, MD and Rodney P. Geier, MD.

These donations come as The Christ Hospital Health Network was named to Newsweek’s Best Cancer Hospitals List for 2024 The Network’s investments are growing their capabilities in cancer care in response to the increasing cancer rates throughout the region, and in some cases, eclipsing the national averages. Specific cancers are on the rise in the Tristate creating a need for local cancer care that equals that of the best centers in the country. In an effort to achieve that goal, the Christ Hospital Health Network, has partnered with the Dana Farber Brigham Cancer Center, to offer groundbreaking treatment options available nowhere else in the country and dozens of subspecialized programs developed to care for the varied and complex cancers right here in Cincinnati.
