CINCINNATI (October 1, 2024) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has hired Marcus Romanello, MD, MBA, as its new Vice President for Medical Affairs & Chief Medical Officer. His first day will be October 1.
Dr. Romanello was most recently the Chief Medical Officer at Kettering Health Hamilton Hospital as part of the Kettering Health System. While there, he was a member of the executive team responsible for quality and safety improvements as well as financial stewardship. Importantly he helped lead the organization’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Romanello was also charged with orchestrating system wide analysis of their service offerings and developing strategic plans for their service lines to improve care and grow market share.

In his role, Dr. Romanello will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies across The Christ Hospital Health Network to achieve strategic goals of being a national leader in quality and safety by strengthening our capabilities to serve all of our community members.

Dr. Romanello previously served as Kettering Health Hamilton’s Emergency Department Medical Director where he was awarded national recognition as Medical Director of the Year for his leadership. He held an assistant professor of emergency medicine position at Southern Ohio University and prior to that he was the Associate Medical Director of Emergency Medicine at UC Health West Chester Hospital.
Marcus earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford and his Medical Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at The Christ Hospital followed by his residency at the University of Alabama Birmingham where he served as Chief Resident. He completed his Masters of Business Administration at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
