Jonathan W. Schilling, MD

Dr. Schilling is a practicing general surgeon at The Christ Hospital who specializes in minimally invasive robotic surgery techniques. Dr. Schilling uses the DaVinci surgical robot to perform most of his minimally invasive surgeries including gallbladder removal, diseases (including cancer) of the stomach, small intestine and colon, management of diverticulitis, anti-reflux surgery (fundoplication) and hernia repair (ventral, incisional, umbilical, epigastric, inguinal/groin, diaphragmatic, and hiatal).

He performs all of his robotic surgeries at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn.

A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Schilling graduated from Archbishop McNicholas High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Miami University, and then received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. Dr. Schilling completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital. Before joining The Christ Hospital, he had been practicing at the Carolinas Hospital System in South Carolina where he was also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery affiliated with the University of South Carolina. He is a board certified General Surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Schilling prefers to spend his free time with his family. You can find the Schillings shopping Findlay Market, playing at Smale Park or hiking the Cincinnati Nature Center. They love to root for the home team win or lose! Dr. Schilling’s other hobbies include cooking, music, and travel.
