As a urologist, Dr. Cox specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of diseases involving the urinary system, with an emphasis in the surgical management of urologic cancers. Dr. Cox has a particular interest in performing robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgeries for urological cancers of the prostate, kidney, and bladder. He is the first surgeon in the Cincinnati area to offer single port daVinci robotic surgery, allowing patients to have better outcomes and quicker return to normal activity compared to standard daVinci robotic surgery.
Dr. Cox has been working at The Christ Hospital since 2012. He currently serves as the Chief of Urology at The Christ Hospital and previously served as the Service Line Medical Director for Specialized Surgery.
Dr. Cox was named to Newsweek’s Top 150 Prostate Cancer Surgeons in the United States in 2024,and has been routinely named to Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors list for Urology.
Dr. Cox grew up in Florence, KY, earning his bachelor of science in biochemistry from the College of Mt. St. Joseph in Cincinnati and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his urology training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Dr. Cox is board-certified by the American Urological Association,and is licensed in Ohio and Kentucky.
Dr. Cox is an avid sports, movie, and music fan. His favorite teams include the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and Louisville basketball. He enjoys travel and spending time with his wife and two kids.
