As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Knibbe specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery including wisdom teeth, oral and facial pathology, reconstructive surgery and jaw( dental) implants. His background is unique in that he has both DDS and MD degrees that allow him to practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

He completed his dental degree at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE where he also completed an internship in general surgery. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at the Carle Clinic in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. He completed a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Facial Surgical Institute of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. He joined Oral Facial Surgery Associates in 1990. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

He was born and grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where he received his BS degree from the University of Utah. He has two sons both attending college. He enjoys travel and golf. He has published numerous articles in professional medical journals and was recently recognized by Cincinnati Magazine as one of the top oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the region.
