Dr. Smith is a cardiologist with particular interest in noninvasive imaging and consultative cardiology. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and Comprehensive Adult Echocardiography. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Miami University. During medical school at the University of Cincinnati, he was elected into the medical honorary Alpha Omega Alpha and received numerous student awards. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati Hospital before attending The Cardiovascular Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In 2008, 2013 and 2015 he was voted one of Cincinnati's "Top Doctors" by his peers in Cincinnati Magazine.
Dr. Smith has been involved in policy implementation, new programs to advance patient care, and peer review within several hospital systems during his career. He was previously elected and served as Department Chair of Internal Medicine within the Mercy Health hospital system. He currently performs consultative cardiology and procedures at The Christ Hospital and Margaret Mary Health in Batesville, Indiana.
Since 2005, Dr. Smith has helped to bring advanced cardiovascular care and the resources of The Christ Hospital to the people of southeastern Indiana through his collaboration with Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, IN.
Born and raised in Ohio and a married father of two daughters, Dr. Smith is excited to living and delivering care in his adopted hometown of Cincinnati.
