Dr. Diller received his undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster and his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Chicago. He completed his residency at the University of Cincinnati and then joined the faculty in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in 1991. He was the residency program director from 1999 to 2010 and became the Fred Lazarus Jr Professor and Chair of the Department in 2011.
Dr. Diller is board certified in family medicine by the State Medical Board of Ohio, American Board of Family Medicine, and Hospice & Palliative Care Medicine. His areas of interests include primary care, family medicine, medical education, palliative care and global health.
Dr. Diller's honors include being named Educator of the Year by the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, National Exemplary Educator of the Year by the American Academy of Family Physicians and The AB Dollie Cohen Teaching Award by the University of Cincinnati.
He is the recipient of multiple research grants, and has numerous peer-reviewed publications, in journals including Family Medicine, the Journal of Family Practice, Journal of Biological Chemistry and Journal of Graduate Medical Education.
