Nathan Gorrell, MD, is a physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specializes in internal medicine. He sees patients ages 18 and older at the Red Bank location.
Dr. Gorrell developed an interest in medicine from his mother, a bedside nurse and later a nurse practitioner. He’s been further inspired throughout his career by the many great mentors who he says have exemplified excellent patient-centered care.
He strives to develop high-quality, long-term relationships with his patients to help them access the highest quality of care and best outcomes. He encourages his patients to advocate for themselves throughout this process and to engage in open and honest two-way communications, so he has all of the information needed to help them make informed decisions about their care. “I look at myself as an educator and liaison to the health care system for my patients and their needs,” he says. “I want patients to understand their disease process and what our treatment plans are.”
Dr. Gorrell earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kent State University and his Medical Degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Summa Health System in Akron. He is a member of the American College of Physicians.
When not providing care, Dr. Gorrell stays active by hiking, running, and playing different sports. He especially values activities with his family such as pickleball and cycling. He also enjoys exploring the variety of restaurants Cincinnati has to offer and trying new places.
