Hannah Hong, MD, is a urologist with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Urology. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery and non-invasive treatments for a range of urological conditions, including prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, pelvic floor disorders, kidney stones, urinary incontinence and vasectomy.
She specializes in robotic surgery as well as newer treatment strategies for prostate cancer such as high intensity focused ultrasound ablation (HIFU) and cryoablation.
Dr. Hong says she became drawn to urology first because of the teamwork involved in bringing the best care to patients. But then she realized the bigger influence she could make in her patients’ lives by helping them with the emotional impacts of their conditions.
“Urologists are given the privilege of establishing long-term relationships with patients, addressing medical issues that are often complicated by psychosocial impacts through shared decision making, and improving their quality of life,” Dr. Hong says.
Dr. Hong graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Genetics. She completed medical school and residency in urology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She is a member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Women in Urology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hong is a coffee enthusiast and foodie (especially when someone else is doing the cooking). She enjoys playing piano and viola, as well as getting outdoors for kayaking and hiking.
