Rich Ohmer, MD, joins The Christ Hospital Health Network with more than 20 years of experience in family medicine and urgent care of illnesses and injuries in outpatient settings.
Dr. Ohmer enjoys the opportunity to take a scientific approach to treating his patients’ immediate medical needs but encourages everyone to have a long-term plan for taking care of their health. “Please listen carefully to your body and don't wait too long to see the doctor if there are symptoms that are new or different for you. And of course, please schedule timely primary care screenings with your physician,” Dr. Ohmer recommends.
As urgent care physician, Dr. Ohmer looks forward with collaborating with the extensive network of primary care physicians and specialists throughout The Christ Hospital Health Network – as well as making a positive difference in his patients’ lives. “It is extremely important to address the patient's primary concerns, even though they may be different from the physician's, and for the patient to have their questions answered. This way, the patient is better able to understand and participate in appropriate and effective treatment,” Dr. Ohmer says.
Dr. Ohmer graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and English literature. He earned his medical degree from the UC College of Medicine and completed his residency with the Bethesda Family Medicine program. He holds Board Certifications with the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Association of Medical Review Officers.
Outside of work, Dr. Ohmer enjoys spending time with family, reading, and keeping up with current events.
