About Mark J. Scott, MD

"I believe the most important part of my job is to provide hope. Patient contact and interactions are very important to me. I help people cope with very intimate and difficult issues and provide them comfort by also addressing the emotional and social implications of their illness. I find personal gratification in taking sophisticated disease information and breaking it down to a level the patient can understand. Giving patients the information they understand and need empowers them to make the best decisions for their health care."

Dr. Scott specializes in pulmonary disease, interventional pulmonology and critical care. He has a special interest using bedside ultrasound to provide the patient's diagnostic work up and treatment. He also believes in using home sleep testing when possible as a cost effective way to diagnose sleep apnea.

Dr. Scott received his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH, where he also completed his residency and internship in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care at the University of Michigan Medical School, Ann Arbor, MI.

Dr. Scott has repeatedly been named as one of Cincinnati's top pulmonologists in Cincinnati Magazine. He has received recognition and honors in academic and clinical excellence and research has been published in professional medical journals. Dr. Scott also participates in the American Lung Association annual "Fight for Air Climb."

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Scott enjoys long distance road bicycling, playing tennis with his wife and spending time with his family.

Doctor Scott showed great interest in my problem, recommended correct medicines, dosages and timing. He took notes, listened intently and asked all the right questions. He took the necessary time to hear what I had to say. He made me feel that he had the ability to cure my condition.

Dr Scott is the best

Dr. Scott is an awesome doctor. He took a lot of time to thoroughly explain my results and the options for follow up care. He even called the radiologist who read the film to clarify the results.
