As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Choo works on blocked arteries and repairs structural heart problems. He graduated cum laude at Harvard University and with the highest academic honors from Yale Medical School. He then went on to complete three fellowships at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital.
He was born in Seoul, Korea, but grew up just outside of Boston. Medicine runs in his family. His father, a general surgeon, and his brother, an emergency room physician, served as inspirations. "With my dad and brother as examples, I realized where my interest lay-taking care of people."
Dr. Choo and his wife have two children, a boy and a girl. As a self-confessed techie, his most recent hobby is building computers. He's also a reader and loves blogs about current events, economics and politics. However, Dr. Choo's main passion comes from taking care of patients. "Helping people when they are at their most vulnerable-it's a good feeling."
