Laura Cieraszynski, DO, is a board-certified physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians-Primary Care who specializes in family medicine with a special interest in chronic disease management, and preventive care. She provides care to patients of all ages at the Delhi location.
Dr. Cieraszynski’s interest in medicine started early. As a child and teen, she paid close attention to the ways both she and her family members experienced healthcare. Those interactions helped her decide what kind of doctor she wanted to be. She has mirrored the positive aspects of those healthcare encounters, aiming to deliver the highest level of service to every patient.
She takes a patient-centered approach to care and views every patient relationship as a partnership to nurture. “Listening to my patients and communicating in terms they understand is the most important thing for me,” she says. “Through mutual decision-making, my patients participate in creating the care plan that best fits their needs. And, with every appointment, I strive for each patient to leave with something said or done that makes their life better.”
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Kentucky and her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Virginia (VCOM-Virginia). She completed a residency in family medicine at the Carilion Clinic Virginia Tech School of Medicine, where she won the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Resident Teacher Award.
Dr. Cieraszynski is certified in family medicine by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. She is also a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association and Phi Beta Kappa.
In her free time, she enjoys attending her sons’ sporting events events, reading, traveling, writing and spending time with her family.
