Steven Tomlinson, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care. He provides care to patients of all ages at the Yankee Rd. location in Liberty Township.
As a teenager with a love for the sciences, Dr. Tomlinson initially shrugged off the many suggestions that he apply that passion to a career in medicine. However, over time, he came to realize that medicine aligned with his interest in making a difference in the lives of those around him. He ultimately fell in love with medicine and the opportunity it provided to pursue both interests.
Combining evidence-based care with a commitment to partnership, Dr. Tomlinson strives to help every patient maximize their health. He strongly believes in a team approach, prioritizing lifestyle changes whenever safe and effective.
"I enjoy working with patients as a team," he explains. "Many prefer to avoid medication when they can, and I'm happy to explore lifestyle modifications first. When medication is necessary, I take the time to explain the reasoning and work with them to find the right fit for their needs."
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology from the University of California – Davis, a Master of Health Informatics from the University of South Florida, and his Medical Degree from the Loma Linda School of Medicine. He completed a residency in family medicine at Kettering Health, where he received an award for Outpatient Resident of the Year.
Dr. Tomlinson is certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
In his free time, Dr. Tomlinson enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys reading fiction and running, especially with his dogs.
