Justin Streicher, MD, is a physician who specializes in urology at The Christ Hospital Physicians – Urology. He provides care for patients at the Ft. Wright and Mt. Auburn locations.
Dr. Streicher says he chose a career in medicine because of his deep interest in the complex workings of the human body and a concern for the welfare of others. “It was a natural decision that has allowed me to use my knowledge to relieve others’ suffering,” he says. “I find it profoundly rewarding to be able to help others.”
He takes a patient-first approach to providing care, and puts a strong emphasis on each individual’s symptoms, personal concerns, and diagnostic results when making recommendations for care. “It’s my responsibility to stay abreast of the rapidly changing advances in medical technology,” he says, “but it’s just as important to have respect for my patients’ individual autonomy and to empower them to make informed decisions for themselves.”
Dr. Streicher completed pre-pharmacy studies and earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Cincinnati. He also earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed a residency in urology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was nominated during his junior year as Consultant of the Year by the emergency department team – a rarity for surgical residents. He also received the Art Evans Award for Excellence in Urologic Research and won the Ohio Urologic Society's Bizarre and Interesting Case competition for his presentations. He is a member of the American Urologic Society and a candidate member of the American Association of Clinical Urologists.
Dr. Streicher and his wife both grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and they have three children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, especially science fiction and philosophy; sharing good food with friends; movies; live music; and spending time outdoors.
