Andrea was born and raised in Coahuila, Mexico, where she graduated from the Ateneo Fuente Preparatory School. Andrea moved to the United States in 2016 and has resided in the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area since. In 2021 she received her bachelor's in psychology from Northern Kentucky University. During her time in NKU she was involved in the Latino Mentor Program, NKU's League of United Latin American Citizens, and the Latino Programs and Services office. In 2021 she was awarded the Latina Student of the Year by NKU's Latino Programs and Services, and the Service Excellence Award by NKU's Psychological Science Department.
For genetic counseling training, Andrea attended the University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Genetic Counseling Graduate Program, receiving her master's of science degree in Medical Genetics in 2024. During her training she was a Qualified Bilingual Staff III, allowing her to counsel patients in Spanish.
Andrea strives to help patients better understand their genetic information while being empathetic and culturally sensitive. She loves connecting with patients on a personal level and to help them be proactive with their health through genetics.
Andrea enjoys attending the different food festivals in Cincinnati, local coffee shops, and spending time with her husband, family and friends.
