Kelly Ionna, CNP, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specialized in internal medicine. She provides care for patients 18 years and older at the Anderson Township location.
A career in medicine was natural for Kelly, who grew up in a family of healthcare providers. “There is no greater privilege for me than being in a position to find answers and solutions that contribute to the improvement of a patient's overall well-being,” she says.
Kelly’s focus when providing care is centered on being compassionate and thorough, and taking a collaborative approach with her patients to help them achieve their optimal health. “I prioritize building strong patient relationships, addressing both immediate concerns and long-term health goals, and ensuring a comprehensive and personalized healthcare experience,” she says. She adds that strong patient relationships are built on open communication to achieve a mutual understanding and to help her patients feel empowered to be active participants in their healthcare journey. “Never hesitate to ask questions, express concerns, and actively participate in the decision-making process with your provider,” she says.
Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in neuroscience from the University of Kentucky. She also earned a Master of Science in nursing from Xavier University and a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Northern Kentucky University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys Sunday dinners at her parents’ house and boating at Norris Lake. She is also an avid fan of the Xavier Musketeer and Kentucky Wildcat athletics.
