Nicholas A. Early, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at OrthoCincy Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine. He sees patients at the practice's Anderson, Eastgate and Kenwood locations. He has extensive experience in cartilage restoration surgery of the knee, complex arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, and has a strong interest in non-surgical and biologic treatments for musculoskeletal issues.
Dr. Early completed his undergraduate studies at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He stayed in Ohio to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Cleveland Clinic Akron General in Akron, and finished his medical training with fellowship training in sports medicine at The Ohio State University in Columbus.
Dr. Early has comprehensive experience working with patients and athletes of all ages and levels of competition. He has served as a team physician for FC Cincinnati, the Columbus Clippers Triple A minor league baseball team, Capital University, and the Ohio State Buckeyes varsity athletic teams. He has also served as team physician for a number of local high schools including Turpin High School, New Richmond High School, and Miami Valley Christian Academy.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Early spends time contributing to the growth of his field. He has served as an instructor on arthroscopic techniques at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and presented research at numerous local, regional, and national meetings. He’s currently a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Early enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and dog. He loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, backpacking, skiing, running, and cycling.
