Derek is a physician assistant focused on patients’ recovery after surgery.
He was born in Cincinnati, OH and was raised in St. Leon, Indiana. After completing his B.S in Kinesiology at IUPUI, he worked as a cardiac technician performing stress tests and ECGs. He transitioned into inpatient cardiac rehabilitation as an Exercise Physiologist before starting his training as a physician assistant at the University of Dayton. He has completed rotations in vascular surgery at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH and cardiothoracic surgery here at The Christ Hospital.
He enjoys traveling with his wife, Kallen, as they continue to search for the best food in the world. In his spare time you can find him mountain biking or taking on a new project around the house.
