Cincinnati (May 12, 2026) – For the tenth year in a row, The Christ Hospital Health Network has received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades. This award recognizes hospitals that excel at providing top-quality care while ensuring a positive healthcare experience for patients. The Christ Hospital Health Network in the only system in Cincinnati to be awarded and one of only 22 in the state of Ohio.
This year’s recipients include 373 hospitals from 46 states and represent the top 15% of hospitals nationwide for patient experience. Healthgrades evaluated Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data with a focus on ten key patient experience measures. Recipients of the 2026 Outstanding Patient Experience Award earned the highest overall experience scores, reflecting an unwavering commitment to prioritizing positive person-centered care.
“We are honored to be named as one of the best hospitals in the country for overall patient experience,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “This award creates value as it is a direct line of the care very patient receives within out network. Creating value in an affordable way, our patients, their families and their friends trust us to create the best outcomes wherever they go for care.”
One recent patient who has experienced exceptional care is Amy West. After being told at another health system, by four doctors, a much-needed hip replacement wasn’t possible due to extenuating circumstances she sought another solution.
“I was terribly depressed,” said West. “I hadn’t left my house except for doctor appointments in about a year and a half. I missed Christmases. I missed birthday parties.”
Seeking a second opinion, West met with Matthew Mangini, MD, orthopedic surgeon at The Christ Hospital — the only health system in the region equipped to perform advanced techniques for more complex, high-risk patients like West.
He didn’t just see a case — he saw a whole person who wanted her life back.
“Cases like hers carry higher risks, and we talked about that,” said Dr. Mangini. “But we made the decision together — because the risk of not living life to the fullest mattered just as much.”
Dr. Mangini performed the surgery in early 2026. Today, West is walking again, no longer using a wheelchair, and back to attending family events and celebrating the moments she once had to miss — a powerful example of what’s possible when care teams truly see and partner with the whole person.
