Roughly 5,400 general acute care hospitals were considered. 253 hospitals received an overall rating of 5 stars while 509 hospitals received 4 stars. Forbes assigned star ratings (1-5) across four categories to calculate a hospital’s overall score including, patient outcomes, best practices, value and patient experience.
