Cincinnati (December 9, 2025) – Ted Karras, 2024 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee and founder of the Cincy Hat Foundation, visited The Christ Hospital Health Network on Tuesday to spread holiday cheer to patients and team members across the hospital. Nearly 400 Holiday Cincy Hats were donated to lift spirits and thank caregivers across multiple units, including patients in the NICU and CVICU, where families and clinical staff received surprise holiday gifts.

“We are so proud of Ted and his nomination for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award,” said Hayes. “This honor recognizes players who go well beyond the game of football to make a real difference in their communities, and that is exactly who Ted is. His dedication and his passion for helping adults with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives is truly, truly inspiring. Through our partnership with Ted and Cincy Hats, we’ve seen firsthand how deeply he cares about his community.”
The Christ Hospital Health Network’s partnership with the Cincy Hat Foundation reflects a shared commitment to improving lives—whether through compassionate healthcare or community-driven support that meets people where they are. Karras’ donation ensures that patients and staff across the hospital will experience moments of joy, comfort, and encouragement throughout the holiday season.
