The Christ Hospital Health Network Earns National Accreditation for Cancer Care

The Three-Year Award Comes from the American College of Radiology

CINCINNATI (May 23, 2024) – The Christ Hospital Health Network has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology® (ACR®). Radiation oncology (radiation therapy) is the careful use of high-energy radiation to treat cancer.

Facilities that achieve the ACR Accreditation have met the high standards for quality and safety in radiation protocols for patients, appropriate doses and undergone rigorous review processes. The Christ Hospital Health Network underwent site surveys to ensure compliance for regulations and safety standards while personnel have undergone the required ACR qualifications to preform radiation procedures.

“Being named an accredited department for radiation is a testament to the talented team members that take care of our patients every day,” said Cornelia McCluskey, MD, Director of Radiation Oncology at The Christ Hospital Health Network. “This recognition proves our cancer care team has everything it takes to provide the highest standard of oncology care to patients in Greater Cincinnati.”

The ACR is the nation’s oldest and most widely accepted radiation oncology accrediting body, with more than 30 years of accreditation experience. The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting specific requirements-based practice guidelines and technical standards developed by ACR after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
