The Christ Hospital Health Network Partners with Pro Football Star Sam Hubbard

Partnership Supports Philanthropy Between Network & Sam Hubbard Foundation

Cincinnati (September 14, 2023) – The Christ Hospital Health Network is proud to announce a partnership with local pro football star, Sam Hubbard. Sam leads the way to make Greater Cincinnati a better place to work, live and grow.

Sam’s accomplishments as a professional football player are no surprise to those who followed his time as a two-sport standout at Moeller High School and his decorated collegiate career at The Ohio State University. However, his charitable accomplishments are equally impressive, a testament to his character and what makes him stand out. Through the Sam Hubbard Foundation, he works to provide equitable access to food, education and a healthy lifestyle for all Cincinnatians.

“Sam’s charitable giving and work through his foundation aligns with our goals of doing everything it takes to improve the health of our community, making Greater Cincinnati a healthier place to live, work and grow,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. “His leadership, both on and off the field through his charitable work, is a shining example of someone who strives to make his community better. When Sam started his foundation, his passion for the cause and his action-oriented approach to helping those less fortunate exemplifies why his powerful influence on the field translates into his work within the community. ‘Sitting on the sidelines’ is not something that Sam Hubbard does.”

Sam and his family have deep roots with The Christ Hospital Health Network. He was born at The Christ Hospital and his mom graduated nursing school at The Christ College of Nursing where she was president of her class.

Sam’s philanthropy includes Hubbard's Cupboards which aims to set students up for success by ensuring they have adequate access to educational resources to strengthen their minds as well as healthy snack options to fuel their bodies so they can focus on learning. Sam also hosts The Sam Hubbard Youth Football Camp focusing on wellness of young athletes at his alma mater, Moeller High School. He’s also donated hundreds of thousands of meals to the Freestore Foodbank to ensure those that live in food deserts or are unable to feed themselves or their families, have support to do so.

“Giving back to the community that has supported me throughout my career has always been a mission of mine,” said Sam. “Growing up in southwest Ohio and as a student at Moeller High School, I know first-hand how special this part of the country is. This region has supported me along the way as I have pursued my career as a professional athlete and if I can partner with organizations like The Christ Hospital Health Network to give back, I think that’s a great way to say thank you to that same community.”

Throughout the season, Sam will help celebrate team members at The Christ Hospital Health Network who go above and beyond their job. These individuals live the mission of doing “Everything It Takes”. Some have organized blanket drives for oncology patients, collected cereal to donate to local schools before extended breaks, traveled on mission trips, organized a cancer survivorship program and donated time to community service projects throughout the city. When Sam learned about the amazing work our team members are doing, he chose to partner exclusively with The Christ Hospital Health Network to celebrate their accomplishments. To kick off the partnership, nearly 30 team members were asked to participate in a video shoot where they got the chance to meet Sam and star with him in several videos for social media, and a new 30-second commercial that will air during the first Cincinnati home game on Sunday, September 17.
