Julian Jones, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular who provides inpatient care to cardiothoracic patients at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn.
Julian was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by a passion to help others. While working as a respiratory therapist during the Covid-19 pandemic, he recognized a need for more providers with a range of knowledge and made the decision to pursue a new but related path. “I realized that my respiratory background and my passion for caring for others made a career as a physician assistant a natural decision.”
His approach to care is centered on the patient first. “I find that it’s important to take a step back and assess what’s important to the patient as an individual,” he says. “I make shared decision-making a priority for all of my patients.” He encourages his patients to advocate for themselves and to always ask questions to help them gain a better understanding for their plan or care, and of the shared decisions being made around that care. “The goal is to create an environment where patients feel safe, supported, and involved,” he says.
Julian holds an Associate of Applied Sciences in Respiratory Care from Bluegrass Community and Technical College, a Bachelor of Health Science from Northern Kentucky University, and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Mount St. Joseph University where he was named Outstanding PA Graduate. He is certified by the National Board on Certification of Physician Assistants.
In his free time, Julian loves traveling with his wife and children. They especially enjoy sharing time outdoors, which leads them to visiting a lot of national parks. “Our favorite vacation was the very beautiful Glacier National Park in Montana,” he adds. He also values staying active by riding bikes, running, and going to the gym.
