About Julia C. Bedard-Thomas, MD

Dr. Bedard-Thomas is board-certified in Family Medicine, Psychiatry, and Geriatrics, seeing primary care patients of all ages with different needs. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wellesley College (Wellesley, MA), graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a minor in Women's Studies. She earned her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC, where she twice received the Potter Award for Excellence in Geriatrics and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Bedard-Thomas then relocated to Ohio for the Psychiatry-Family Medicine Combined five-year residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center before completing her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program here at The Christ Hospital.

Dr. Bedard-Thomas has received several honors and awards for her leadership and care of patients. She was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2014 to serve as a role model of the human connection in healthcare. She also twice received the Potter Award for Excellence in Geriatrics – Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine at Wake Forest University. Dr. Bedard-Thomas serves the community through volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, providing healthcare through the Wake Forest Delivering Equal Access to Care (DEAC) Clinic, and contributing to the Christ Hospital Women in Medicine Day as Key Note Speaker and Family Medicine Ambassador. She has also served as committee chair for the Christ Hospital Family Medicine Residency Diversity Committee.

Dr. Bedard-Thomas enjoys cooking, playing guitar and singing, playing intramural team sports, and backpacking during her free time.
