My interactions with my doctor was excellent and my surgery went well. My overall experience has been amazing and I am glad to have been with Christ Hospital.

Dr. Van Wyck took the time to thoroughly address my concerns and walk through potentially more serious (but unlikely) indications of my pain (this was at my specific request, as I explicitly noted that I was not looking for reassurance, as I had already experienced a pretty rare surgical complication, so excluding things because they were unlikely was not a particular comfort to me). Although Dr. Van Wyck did outline the worst case scenarios, she also carefully explained why she believed more positive outcomes were more likely and why she believed that my pain was more likely to be irritation than, for example, infection. She also noted things to be on the lookout for that would be worrying. She also gave me the option to treat this extremely aggressively, in response to my concerns, but (given her thorough rationale) I declined more aggressive treatment. Given my recent history, it was important to me that Dr. Van Wyck did not just reassure me, but explained the specific details and data that were reason to be reassured.
