Dr. Ryan Finnan graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and received his M.D. from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and the Miami Valley Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Dayton, OH. He then completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Dr. Finnan is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in orthopaedic trauma and foot and ankle surgery. He served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center and as the Director of the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma at the West Chester Hospital.
During the summer of 2014, Dr. Finnan served as a Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Craig Joint Theater Hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He received the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service during that time.
Dr. Finnan’s clinical interests include fracture care, difficult and problem fractures, nonunions, malunions, orthopaedic infections, deformity correction and foot and ankle surgical reconstruction. He is an active member of several professional organizations including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Ohio Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Finnan is widely published and actively engaged in multiple research projects. In addition to his teaching during the past several years, he has also lectured regionally, nationally and internationally.
