Dr. Griffin is a cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in all aspects of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery. He is a native of northern Virginia. He completed his undergraduate education and masters degree in biostatistics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. His graduate education was supported by a training grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. He completed medical school at Duke University followed by training in internal medicine at Northwestern University and cardiothoracic surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The expertise shown by Dr. Griffin during, and following my surgery, was exceptional. Sometimes a good "mechanic" doesn't have much "personality", but Dr. Griffin is down to earth, friendly, professional, and I could not have put my heart into better hands. He also showed compassion toward my wife during this stressful time. Just five stars all around. Thanks, Doc.
