"Helping patients when they feel like they can't be helped motivates me daily. I enjoy preventative care, but also providing support when patients need it the most – when they are sick. I became interested in medicine at an early age. My family experiences heavily influenced my decision to become a physician. Many patients do not know much about healthy living and disease prevention. Too often, they are not educated or informed by their providers. When my father was diagnosed with heart disease, he needed to be educated on how to prevent further damage to his heart. He was not provided the education he needed to prevent his disease from progressing."
"Educating the patient gives them the knowledge needed to prevent diseases and slows down disease progression. I discovered I could make a real difference in someone's life through educating them in disease and prevention and care of their disease. I take the time to inform my patient's how to take care of themselves to prevent diseases, slow chronic disease progression, and healthy lifestyle changes. It gives me personal satisfaction to see my patients get better because they understand their disease and how they can improve their health."
