Dr. Lekan earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University after graduating from The Ohio State University. He returned to Columbus to serve his internship and anesthesiology residency at OSU Hospitals, where he was chief resident.

After a year as a clinical instructor in anesthesiology at OSU Hospitals, Dr. Lekan joined AAC in 1986. Since that time, he has taken on numerous leadership roles. Former posts include secretary to the board of directors and coordinator of both anesthetist evaluations and the department's M & M conferences. Currently he is chairman of the Surgical Collaborative Committee and a member of The Christ Hospital's Corporate Quality Committee. At The Christ Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center, Dr. Lekan serves as medical director.

A member of the American, Ohio and Greater Cincinnati Societies of Anesthesiologists, Dr. Lekan is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Anesthesiology.
