Kayla Phillips, CNP, is a certified nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Hospitalists/Nocturnists who provides inpatient care at The Christ Hospital.
Kayla decided to pursue a career in medicine as a teenager after aiding a person who was involved in an accident. “Witnessing the wreck at a young age was quite impactful,” she says. “It opened my eyes to the fragility of life and the importance of providing people with quick and effective medical care.”
She approaches care for her patients with a focus on empathy, communication, and holistic treatment of the whole person. “It’s important to understand each patient’s unique needs, to actively listen, and to involve them in their own care decisions,” she says. “Focusing on compassion and collaboration helps build trust and improves outcomes.”
Kayla earned an Associates of Science from Western Wyoming Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wyoming, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
