Anna Overmann, MD, is a physician with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specializes in internal medicine. She provides care to patients ages 18 years and older at the Mt. Auburn location.
A medical career was a natural decision for Dr. Overmann because it combines her passion for serving others with a love of science. “It allows me the challenge to be a lifelong learner to stay current and engaged with the most recent advances medicine while also having the privilege to help improve my patients’ health and quality of life,” she says.
Dr. Overmann takes a holistic and patient-centered approach to providing care. “It’s important to me to get to know and explore my patients’ values to help inform their care in a targeted manner,” she says. She also emphasizes education about making positive choices to promote wellness and stave off the development of chronic illness. “It’s never too late to make positive changes to impact your health,” she says.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Psychology from the University of Dayton, a Master of Science in Zoology from Washington State University, and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she served as Primary Care Chief Resident. She is a member of the American College of Physicians.
When not providing care, Dr. Overmann values spending time with her family, especially her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, rowing, and exploring the local arts and music scene.
