Brynn Musheno, CNP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular who provides critical care to patients at the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at The Christ Hospital in Mt. Auburn. She significant experience with treating patients in a critical care setting as well as transplant patients.
Brynn was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by memories of nursing home visits as a small child to see her grandfather, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. “He was always so excited and happy to see me, despite not knowing who I was,” she says. “I wanted to have a similar effect on as many people as possible who are going through their own medical issues. I figured a career in nursing was a great way to accomplish that.”
She has a passion for caring for the “whole” patient, and not just their diagnosis or admitting problem that drives her approach to providing care. “I take pride in getting to know my patients as individuals as I feel this better enables me to care for them,” she says. She encourages her patients to always be their own advocate, and if they are not in a position to advocate for themselves to empower somebody that they love and trust to do so for them.
Brynn has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & History from the University of Notre Dame, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as a Master’s of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from George Washington University. She is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
As a former collegiate soccer player, Brynn enjoys cheering for FC Cincinnati in her free time. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and their sons. As a newer resident of Cincinnati, she’s in regular pursuit of the best hamburger in the city and is open to recommendations.
