Heather Phillips, MSN, FNP-C, is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with The Christ Hospital Physicians – Primary Care who specializes in family medicine and cares for patients 18 and older at the Yankee Rd. location in Liberty Township.
As Heather was entering high school, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. The care and compassion the nurses provided to her mom and her family inspired her to pursue a nursing career. “I saw what it meant to us and I knew then that I wanted to become that compassionate nurse for others,” she says. While working in inpatient care, she says she recognized a desire to collaborate more with patients to manage their medical needs and promote healthy living, prompting her to pursue an advanced degree and an opportunity to practice family medicine as a nurse practitioner.
Heather values a collaborative approach with her patients to help them achieve their best health. “I want them to feel comfortable talking to me about their concerns and knowing I will do everything in my power to make them feel the best versions of themselves,” she says.
She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner from Northern Kentucky University. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
When not providing care, Heather enjoys boating at Lake Cumberland with her husband, family and friends. She’s also an avid dog lover, especially her Boston Terriers.
