Abbi de la Rosa, APRN, is a certified advanced practice registered nurse who provides inpatient and outpatient care at The Christ Hospital Physicians – Heart & Vascular.
Before moving into her role as a nurse practitioner, she worked extensively with cardiology patients as a registered nurse. She comes from a family of healthcare professionals who inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. However, she says the catalyst was losing a close family friend when she was young. “I became determined to pursue a career in medicine after that,” she says, “to prevent the preventable, cure the ‘incurable,’ and everything in between.”
Abbi’s approach to providing care is both evidenced-based and patient-centric. “It’s key to have a core foundation and understanding of current evidence and guidelines,” she says. “But every patient has their own set of experiences that should shape and drive their individual plan for care.” She urges her patients to be open and honest with their care providers to help them ensure they are getting the most from their care.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine from the University of Dayton, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University. She received her certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
When she is not providing care, Abbi enjoys spending time with her husband, their child, and their dogs. They love to spend time exploring outdoors and trying new food spots around Cincinnati.
