Kirtan Patel, DO, is a physician with The Christ Hospital Health Network who provides inpatient care for patients at The Christ Hospital as a hospitalist.
Dr. Patel was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by his father, who gave up his own dream of being a doctor to begin working at a younger age to provide for his family. However, his father took that desire to help others and set an example with a commitment to serving the community and helping those less fortunate, especially when travelling to their home country of India. “His outlook on humanity was the driving inspiration for me to practice medicine,” Dr. Patel says.
He says that two-way communication between a doctor and patient are at the core of his care philosophy. He also strives for a mutual trust and understanding that he will make the best decisions in care of each individual patient while they are honest with him and adhere to prescribed care. “We make up a partnership that works together to get your conditions under control,” he says.
Dr. Patel earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburg and a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at The Christ Hospital where he served as Academic Chief Resident.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Patel enjoys travelling, especially to Singapore – his favorite city. He also enjoys baking vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes.
