Ashley Campbell, APRN, FNP, is an advanced practice registered nurse with The Christ Hospital Cancer Center and Lung Nodule Clinic. As a lung nurse navigator, she works with patients and other members of the hospital’s oncology team to coordinate all aspects of their care – from lung cancer screening and diagnosis through treatment and recovery.
“Getting to know my patients, what they enjoy, what they dislike, and their life experiences are all important in the care of my patients,” Ashley says. “The patient is not the condition they are coming to see me for. I want to consider the whole person when making care and treatment plans.”
Ashley has been part of The Christ Hospital care team for many years. She has a wealth of experience as a nurse in the operating room, including being part of the surgical teams conducting clinical research for pioneering endovascular stents and cardiac surgery.
Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University, where she focused on family medicine. She is a member of the American Nursing Association and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses.
Ashley and her family are outdoor enthusiasts, often spending summers boating on Lake Cumberland and scuba diving. She also enjoys reading, biking, and travel.
